CFI to challenge ban in court

New Delhi, September 29, 2022 (PPI-OT):Campus Front of India (CFI) while terming the banning of the organization by the Narendra Modi-led fascist Indian government as “undemocratic” and “anti-Constitutional” has announced to challenge the move in court.

The Muslim students organization in a statement also asked all the students who had associated with it previously not to conduct any programme or activity in the name of CFI. The Modi regime has banned the CFI for five years under draconian law Unlawful Activities (Prevention) Act (UAPA) for its affiliation with the Muslim organization, Popular Front of India.

The CFI national president MS Sajid told the media that they are taking stock of the situation. “We hope it will not affect the court proceedings of Atiq-ur-Rahman,” Sajid said, referring to the deteriorating health condition of jailed CFI leader.

Atiq was arrested along with journalist Siddique Kappan, a master’s student at Delhi’s Jamia Millia Islamia Masood Ahmad, and their driver, Muhammad Alam, October 05, 2020 when they were on their way from New Delhi to Hathras city in the Indian state of Uttar Pradesh to meet the family of the gang-rape and murder victim Dalit girl.

PFI Kerala state also announced that they are disbanding the organisation. “We are not responsible for using the name or banner of the organisation for any programme or activity or social media posts and comments,” reads the statement.

“Campus Front of India has been working for over a decade among students across the country with a vision of building socially concerned and responsible youths with secular and democratic spirit. We have succeeded in achieving it to an extent. Many educated youths who were part of the organisation have now been active in various spheres of social activities,” the statement added.
