Karachi, The Central Ruet-e-Hilal Committee is set to meet in Islamabad on Tuesday to observe the crescent for Shawwal-ul-Mukarram, marking the conclusion of Ramadan and the beginning of Eid celebrations across Pakistan. The session is part of a critical religious observance that determines the end of the fasting month and the start of festive celebrations.
According to Ministry of Information and Broadcasting, Maulana Abdul Khabir Azad, the Chairman of the Committee, will preside over the meeting which will see participation from members of various key institutions. Representatives from the Ministry of Science and Technology, the Pakistan Meteorological Department, and The Space and Upper Atmosphere Research Commission are slated to participate in the crescent sighting efforts. Additionally, zonal members from major cities including Islamabad, Lahore, Karachi, Quetta, and Peshawar will contribute to the deliberations, highlighting the nationwide scope of the meeting.
In an effort to involve the public in this significant religious event, Maulana Azad has called on citizens to actively participate in moon sighting activities for Shawwal-ul-Mukarram. This collaborative approach not only underscores the communal aspect of the occasion but also ensures a wide-ranging observation effort across the country.
The outcome of Tuesday’s meeting will be eagerly awaited by millions in Pakistan, as it will officially signal the end of Ramadan and set the date for Eid-ul-Fitr celebrations.
