Central Development Working Party approves 6 projects worth 47 billion rupees for the youth of the country Providing the best opportunities to the youth is the first priority of the government, Federal Planning, Ahsan Iqbal 

Islamabad, December 05, 2022 (PPI-OT):Central Development Working Party (CWDP) on Monday under the chairmanship of Federal Minister for Planning, Development and Special Measures Prof. Ahsan Iqbal approved 6 projects worth 47 billion rupees for the youth of the country.

These projects include Prime Minister Youth Laptop Scheme (Phase III) at a cost of Rs.0.146162 billion, Overseas Scholarship Program for MS/MPhil in selected fields at a cost of Rs.22.21457 billion, (Phase III) at a cost of Rs.0.89755 Prime Minister National Award and Prime Minister Youth Development Center (YDC) at a cost of Rs.8.6633 billion, provision of higher education opportunities for students of Balochistan and FATA at a cost of Rs. The cost is 47.480 billion rupees included.

Federal Minister for Planning Professor Ahsan Iqbal presided over the meeting and said that the current government is determined to provide guidance and higher training opportunities to the youth, the practical example of which are these projects, which will give a bright future to the youth of the country and employment for them. The chances will also increase.

The Forum has approved the Prime Minister Youth Laptop Scheme (Phase III) at a cost of Rs 0.146162 billion. Under this program, the Pakistan Muslim League (N) government, continuing the old plan of its previous regime, will provide laptops to the youth. Its aim is to transform the youth into a skilled and educated workforce so that it can contribute proportionately to the global economy.

Similarly, the Forum has also approved the scheme of Overseas Scholarships for MS/M.Phil. pursuing PhD in selected fields (Phase III) at a cost of Rs.22.214 billion to provide opportunities to students. Under this programme, 75 scholarships (40 PhD and 35 MS) will be awarded to students under the 75th National Independence Scholarships and the project will be sponsored by HEC.

Addressing the meeting, Secretary Ministry of Planning, Syed Zafar Ali Shah said that the Youth Internship Program aims to increase the marketability, employability and work readiness of educated youth, while removing barriers to entry into the labor market. Also has to be eliminated.

Similarly, the forum has also approved Prime Minister National Award and Prime Minister Youth Development Center (YDC) projects at a cost of Rs 0.897554 billion will get The Federal Government will fund the Prime Minister’s Youth Programme. The Prime Minister’s National Innovation Award (PMNIA), an initiative of the Prime Minister’s Youth Programme, is being implemented by HEC.

Similarly, YDC will support the establishment of an Undergraduate Student Office where services related to the Undergraduate Policy 2020 and other services related to youth development will be offered.

The forum also approved providing higher education opportunities to students of Balochistan, FATA at a cost of Rs 8.66335 billion. The project aims to provide higher education opportunities to students of Balochistan and erstwhile FATA through admission in HEC-recognized Higher Education Institutions (HEIs) and cover their tuition fees and other living expenses.

Addressing the meeting, Member Social Sector and Devolution Rafiullah Kakar highlighted the project and said that the restoration of undergraduate scholarship for students of Balochistan and former FATA will strengthen national cohesion and integration, while the scholarships are based on population. Selection will be given in each field of study. This project will provide access to 5000 students (5000 undergraduate 4-5 year BS program) from Balochistan.
