According to Ministry of Information and Broadcasting, this year’s theme, ‘Women and Girls in Science Leadership: A New Era for Sustainability,’ highlights the importance of female leadership in science and its impact on achieving sustainable development goals. The theme underscores the need for an inclusive approach that leverages the talents and perspectives of women and girls in shaping a sustainable future.

The observance of this day serves as a reminder of the ongoing efforts required to overcome gender barriers in science, ensuring that women and girls have the support and opportunities to pursue careers in STEM (Science, Technology, Engineering, and Mathematics) fields. It is a call to action for governments, educational institutions, and organizations worldwide to implement policies and programs that foster an inclusive scientific community.

Islamabad, Pakistan has vehemently condemned the recent terrorist attack targeting UAE military trainers and Somalian soldiers undergoing training at a military base in Mogadishu. The assault, which marks a significant escalation in violence in the region, has prompted a strong reaction from the international community, with Pakistan extending its condolences and support.

According to Ministry of Foreign Affairs, the government of Pakistan expressed its deepest sympathies to the governments and people of the United Arab Emirates and Bahrain, as well as to the families of the victims affected by this tragic incident. Islamabad has also wished a speedy recovery to all those injured during the attack.

In its statement, Pakistan articulated a strong denouncement of terrorism in all its forms and manifestations. The country affirmed its unwavering support for the Government of Somalia in its efforts to combat terrorism and restore peace and stability to the region. This incident underscores the ongoing challenges faced by Somalia and the international community in addressing the threat of terrorism and highlights the importance of continued solidarity and cooperation among nations in tackling such challenges.

Lahore, In a significant political development, the leaderships of Pakistan Muslim League-Nawaz (PML-N) and Muttahida Qaumi Movement (Pakistan) (MQM-P) have agreed to collaborate politically for the nation’s benefit. This consensus was reached during a meeting between delegations from both parties in Lahore, marking a pivotal moment in Pakistan’s political landscape.



According to Ministry of Information and Broadcasting, the PML-N delegation was led by Muhammad Nawaz Sharif, while Dr. Khalid Maqbool Siddiqui spearheaded the MQM delegation. The meeting, which lasted almost an hour, focused on the current political situation, with both sides engaging in detailed discussions and exchanging suggestions.



Notable members of the PML-N delegation included President Shehbaz Sharif, Maryam Nawaz, Ishaq Dar, Ahsan Iqbal, Rana Sanaullah, Ayaz Sadiq, Khawaja Saad Rafique, Maryam Aurangzeb, and Rana Mashhood. The MQM-P delegation comprised Governor Sindh Kamran Tessori, Dr. Farooq Sattar, and Mustafa Kamal.



Marriyum Aurangzeb, PML-N spokesperson, shared on X that both parties had reached an “agreement in principle” on basic points, emphasizing their commitment to moving forward together for the country and nation’s interest. This collaboration between PML-N and MQM-P, two of Pakistan’s major political entities, underscores a strategic alignment aimed at addressing the nation’s challenges and capitalizing on opportunities for progress and stability.



The meeting reflects both parties’ willingness to confide in each other regarding the overall political situation and previous contacts, setting the stage for a cooperative approach to governance and political engagement in the future.
