Islamabad, May 28, 2022 (PPI-OT):Capital Development Authority is taking all possible steps to ensure proper lighting system in Islamabad city so that there is no shortage of any kind in providing best facilities to the citizens. No more In this regard, the street lights department of the Capital Development Authority is also working on the restoration of bad street lights including installation of new street lights in various main highways, link roads, intersections, streets and markets of the city.
In this regard, for the installation of new and modern high pressure sodium LED Street lights on the main highways and connecting roads from Srinagar Highway to T Junction Murree Road and Zero Point Interchange in Islamabad area and maintenance of faulty street lights.
A budget of over Rs. 1 million has been allocated. Similarly, for installation of new and modern High Pressure Sodium LED Street Lights on Main Highways of Srinagar Highway to Peshawar Junction Interchange and Metro Bus Route and Maintenance of Bad Street Lights, Rs. A budget of more than Rs 24 million.
In addition, the Department of Street Lights has decided to further improve the proper lighting system on the main highway from Margalla Road to Sector F-8, F-9, F-10 and F-11, under which new and modern High Pressure Sodium LED Street will be installed. Bad street lights will be rehabilitated including installation of lights. For which a budget of Rs. 23 million has been allocated by the concerned departments.
In addition, it has been decided to ensure proper arrangement of lighting from Islamabad Highway to Sohan Interchange and Zia Masjid for which a budget of over Rs. 12 million has been set by the Department of Street Lights. The Department of Street Lights has set a budget of about Rs. 13.50 million for the installation of new and modern high pressure sodium LED street lights on the main highways from Islamabad Highway to Zia Masjid and Coral Interchange. Similarly, to control the flow of traffic in Islamabad, it has been decided to install electronic flashers on various highways under modern traffic management system for which a budget of about Rs. 1.5 million has been allocated by the concerned departments.
Installation of new street lights in the above mentioned areas and maintenance and repair of bad street lights will cost a total of Rs. 100 million. Tenders in this regard will be published in newspapers soon. It should be noted that under the direction of the management of the Capital Development Authority, the Street Lights Department is expeditiously working for the restoration of faulty street lights in the remaining areas to ensure proper lighting system in the city.
