Islamabad: In a focused effort to enhance fiscal performance and infrastructure development, the Capital Development Authority (CDA) held a review meeting on Friday, chaired by CDA Chairman Muhammad Ali Randhawa. The meeting evaluated progress on revenue collection and the advancement of ongoing development projects within the city.
According to Capital Development Authority, the session focused on assessing the revenue targets achieved by various departments, with senior officers from all wings of the authority and the Municipal Corporation Islamabad (MCI) in attendance. Chairman Randhawa mandated the submission of weekly and monthly reports to closely monitor revenue accomplishments. He also advocated for special incentives for employees and officers who meet their fiscal targets.
The meeting highlighted the integration of IT solutions and digital services to improve service delivery and simplify the collection process for various charges, aiming to facilitate easier transactions for Islamabad residents. Emphasis was placed on ensuring the collection of development charges to accelerate the progress on current infrastructure projects in different sectors. It was noted that a recent increase in development charges would apply across all active development sectors.
Chairman Randhawa also announced upcoming investment opportunities, including the offering of residential plots in Sector C-14, parking plazas in the Blue Area, and other commercial plots. Furthermore, he mentioned that the renovation of the Jinnah Convention Center would be completed in time for the upcoming Shanghai Cooperation Organization meeting, positioning it as a premier venue for future large-scale events hosted by corporate, educational, and private entities.
