CDA Initiates Digital Parking Installation in Islamabad’s Busy Centers

Islamabad: Muhammad Ali Randhawa, Chairman of the Capital Development Authority (CDA), has ordered the immediate commencement of hardware installation for a new digital parking system in Islamabad. This initiative, aimed at modernizing parking facilities, will initially target the city’s busiest centers and markets.

According to Capital Development Authority, the briefing provided to Chairman Randhawa outlined the current progress of the digital parking project. The plan involves introducing digital parking solutions in phases, with the first focusing on areas with high traffic volumes. Consultations with all stakeholders, particularly local traders, are being prioritized to ensure the project’s successful integration and acceptance.

Chairman Randhawa discussed how parking rules and charges would be crafted, drawing on the experiences of other cities and international standards. He emphasized that the revenue generated from the new digital parking system will fund further beautification and renovation projects in the city’s markets and centers. Additionally, the system is designed to address the specific needs of senior citizens, women, and individuals with special needs, ensuring an inclusive and user-friendly parking experience.
