CDA Chairman Mohammad Ali Randhawa Inspects New Electric Buses in Islamabad

Islamabad, Chairman CDA Mohammad Ali Randhawa recently visited the new electric bus charging points in the city, emphasizing the progress towards modernizing public transport for Islamabad’s residents. Randhawa personally drove one of the 30 electric buses that have arrived for the Islamabad bus service project, marking the start of a more environmentally friendly transport era. These buses are part of an order of 160, aimed at enhancing commuting facilities across the city.

According to Capital Development Authority, Randhawa highlighted that initially, these 30 buses would serve two main routes. The first route runs from the Orange Line Depot in G-11 to Pims Hospital, featuring 13 stops with a bus arrival every ten minutes. The second route connects Pims Hospital to Bari Imam, operating daily from 6 am to 10 pm. Randhawa also inspected the under-construction H-9 bus depot, which is scheduled for completion by June 30. This depot will support the next phase of 70 buses, ensuring all facilities, including charging stations, are fully functional.

The Chairman also announced plans to develop a subsidy program for the disabled, students, and other deserving groups to ensure accessibility and affordability of the bus service. This initiative is part of the broader effort to provide modern and quality travel facilities to the citizens of Islamabad.
