Islamabad, May 24, 2022 (PPI-OT):Meeting of the CDA Board was held at CDA headquarters on Saturday. During the meeting CDA Board approved completion of Islamabad Highway; Koral to Rawat section under 42f. The board approved execution of the project under government to government arrangement.
It was observed that individual interventions will not be fruitful unless full-fledged project is taken up and completed in one go. Now that year end is approaching and CDA budget has already posted a surplus, CDA approved this long due project which is essential for commuters of Islamabad. The project will also include a bus route for blue line.
CDA Board also approved two separate summaries for transport solutions in Islamabad.
a) CDA board has also approved blue line and green line bus routes and plying of buses on temporary basis from surplus available once buses arrive from China at the end of this month.
b) CDA is giving a comprehensive solution from koral to PIMS under the blue line, and Bharaku to PIMS under green line.
Now entire bus routes will be linked so that a person who boards from bharaku can either go for a last route to Pindi or airport. This initiative will make Islamabad the first city in Pakistan to offer multiple connectivity linking all four corners of the city. It is hoped that this will not only help resolve traffic issues and environmental issues but will also introduce a new trend in public travel.
During the meeting Margalla road presentation was made by E in C branch who are design consultants for the project. Various aspects including termination route of section 4, and shah Allah ditta by pass were examined.
During the meeting of CDA board it was decided that the orange line metro station is being constructed on Govt to Govt basis. The board further decided that nilore heights being constructed by FWO will be offered to general public. This will generate revenue and contribute to housing needs of the city.
During the meeting of the CDA board upcoming auction was also discussed. Here the focus will be on abandoned site at Margalla retreat. This will be offered to public. CDA also decided that some plots in the area may be developed by CDA on its own.
