CBD Punjab Implements Measures to Address Smog and Air Pollution

Lahore, 14 Oct 2023: Acting on a directive from Chief Minister Punjab Mohsin Naqvi, CEO of CBD Punjab, Imran Amin, recently assessed the authority’s efforts to combat smog and air pollution. He, along with an expert team, undertook a comprehensive inspection of multiple sites including the CBD Punjab Quaid District, Ghora Chowk Flyover, and Walton Railway Crossing.

Joining the CEO on this collaborative mission were CBD Punjab’s Chairman of the Board, Fazeel Asif Jah, Executive Directors Mohammed Omer and Riaz Hussain, and directors Asif Iqbal, Asif Babar, and Sameer Aftab. Representatives from CBD Punjab Technical Team, Nespak, and the official contractor also actively participated.

One significant initiative observed during this tour was the use of harvested rainwater from the tank at Saint Mary Park to dampen construction sites. This strategy not only reduces dust pollution, a key contributor to smog, but also highlights CBD Punjab’s dedication to conserving water resources.

In addition to this, CBD Punjab has launched a major plantation campaign, aimed at boosting the area’s greenery and bolstering environmental sustainability efforts.

Speaking about the proactive approach of the authority, CEO Imran Amin remarked, “Our collective endeavours to address air pollution and champion green practices align with our dedication to sustainable growth and fostering a cleaner environment for everyone.”

Punjab Central Business District Development Authority remains steadfast in its efforts to mitigate smog and air pollution, signaling its commitment to a greener and healthier Punjab.
