Karachi, Caretaker Chief Minister of Sindh, Justice Maqbool Baqar, has directed the Senior Member Board of Revenue (SMBR) to take stringent measures against corrupt practices identified in sub-registrar and mukhtiarkar offices. This directive followed a meeting with members of the Karachi Bar Association’s Managing Committee at the CM House.
According to Sindh Chief Minister House, the delegation, including President Amir Saleem and others, informed the Chief Minister about the widespread corruption in sub-registrar offices. They reported that gift deeds were not processed without bribes, and a retired mukhtiarkar was exerting undue influence in the taluka Saddar Mukhtiarkar office in Karachi.
Chief Minister Baqar instructed SMBR Zahid Abbasi to take decisive action against the corrupt officials and cleanse the offices of retired, private, and corrupt individuals. SMBR Abbasi committed to meeting with Karachi bar members and addressing their complaints.
The KBA members also raised concerns about the lack of medical supplies in the Bar’s dispensary and the poor condition of the road and drainage system near the City Courts. Responding to these issues, CM Baqar ordered the Karachi Metropolitan Corporation to repair the broken road and improve the drainage system. He also directed the Secretary of Health to supply medicines to the Karachi bar dispensary and provide a Rescue 1122 ambulance.
