Caretaker Prime Minister of Pakistan Advocates for Enhanced Focus on Quality Education

Islamabad, Caretaker Prime Minister Anwaar ul Haq Kakar, emphasizing the importance of quality education, highlighted the need for Pakistan to increase its focus on educational standards to effectively address current challenges. Addressing students from AJK universities in Muzaffarabad, the Prime Minister underscored the necessity of a robust educational infrastructure to foster high-caliber learning.

According to Ministry of Information and Broadcasting, Prime Minister Kakar called for a meaningful dialogue on establishing a unified national curriculum, identifying it as a critical issue in the aftermath of the 18th Amendment. He urged the Pakistani Parliament to spearhead this initiative, recognizing it as a pivotal nation-building effort.

Responding to inquiries regarding the establishment of a corridor between Azad Jammu and Kashmir (AJK) and Indian Illegally Occupied Jammu and Kashmir (IIOJK), the Prime Minister expressed that any such efforts would be premature without resolving the Kashmir dispute. He noted that the situation in IIOJK, under the current Hindutva-led government of Prime Minister Narendra Modi, presents significant challenges to such initiatives. Nonetheless, he conveyed a willingness to consider such a corridor should India demonstrate a positive stance on the matter.

Prime Minister Kakar further advocated for a comprehensive policy that takes into account the human resource needs of Pakistan, as well as regional and global demands. This policy, he suggested, should be designed to align with the nation’s broader developmental goals and international commitments.

The Prime Minister’s remarks underscore the government’s commitment to elevating the educational landscape of Pakistan, recognizing the role of education in meeting the challenges of the modern era.
