Caretaker Prime Minister Kakar Meets President Xi Jinping Amidst Belt and Road Forum

Islamabad, At the Great Hall of People in Beijing today, Caretaker Prime Minister Anwaar-ul-Haq Kakar held a meeting with President Xi Jinping during the Third Belt and Road Forum. Prime Minister Kakar extended congratulations to President Xi for the successful forum and praised his eight-point agenda regarding the future direction of the Belt and Road Initiative.

According to Press Information Department, Both leaders emphasized the enduring All-Weather Strategic Cooperative Partnership between their nations. Prime Minister Kakar and President Xi expressed mutual intentions to enhance high-level dialogues for the benefit of both countries. Acknowledging Pakistan and China as consistent allies, Kakar reiterated Pakistan’s unwavering support for China’s core issues, terming the bilateral relationship as a pillar of regional peace. President Xi reciprocated the sentiment, expressing China’s commitment to backing Pakistan’s sovereignty and development. Discussions also revolved around increased regional connectivity and economic collaboration, with both leaders keen on advancing the China-Pakistan Economic Corridor (CPEC) as a model for sustainable and inclusive growth. Global and regional developments were also on the agenda, with both sides recognizing shared perspectives on major global issues and agreeing to enhance strategic communication.
