Islamabad, 17 Oct 2023:Amid the Third Belt and Road Forum for International Cooperation in Beijing, Caretaker Prime Minister Anwaar ul Haq Kakar convened with President Vladimir Putin of the Russian Federation. The high-level discussion centered on the enhancement of bilateral ties, especially in trade, investment, and energy. Both leaders expressed contentment over the progressive growth of Pakistan-Russia relations.

Emphasizing the potential of Eurasian connectivity, the conversation touched upon Pakistan’s instrumental role in promoting regional integration through various channels like rail, road, and energy corridors. Prime Minister Kakar accentuated the importance of regional integration for the holistic economic growth of the entire region, confirming Pakistan’s dedication to bolstering its bilateral relationship with Russia in several domains, including trade, investment, energy, connectivity, and counterterrorism.
