Caretaker Prime Minister Emphasizes Strong Bilateral Ties in Meeting with Xinjiang Party Secretary

Islamabad, Prime Minister Anwaar-ul-Haq Kakar met today with Mr. Ma Xingrui, Party Secretary of Xinjiang Uygur Autonomous Region and member of the Politburo of the Central Committee of the Communist Party of China, in Urumqi.

According to a news release by Press Information Department, The meeting highlighted Pakistan’s unwavering commitment to its friendship with China. Kakar highlighted that the bond with China serves as the foundation of Pakistan’s foreign policy and is pivotal for regional peace and growth. The Prime Minister emphasized the special significance Xinjiang holds for Pakistan due to its geographical, historical, and cultural connections. Both parties agreed on the need to enhance collaboration in various sectors, from trade and investment to cultural exchange. Party Secretary Ma Xingrui expressed Xinjiang’s eagerness to expand business relations with Pakistan and ease commercial and people-to-people connections via the Khunjerab-Sost border.
