Caretaker PM Urges UNICEF to Develop New Strategy for Educating Pakistan’s Out-of-School Children

Islamabad, In a significant move to address the educational needs of out-of-school children, Caretaker Prime Minister Anwaar-ul-Haq Kakar has urged the United Nations International Children’s Emergency Fund (UNICEF) to devise a new and effective educational strategy for Pakistan.

According to Ministry of Information and Broadcasting, during a meeting with UNICEF Representative in Pakistan, Abdullah Fadil, in Islamabad today, Prime Minister Kakar emphasized the critical role of technology in education. He proposed the use of tablets to facilitate access to modern information for students in the country’s less developed areas. The Prime Minister also expressed his full support for UNICEF’s initiatives to introduce technological advancements in these regions’ education sectors.

Additionally, Prime Minister Kakar pledged to provide all necessary assistance for UNICEF projects focused on creating employment opportunities for Pakistani youth. He lauded UNICEF’s efforts in the education sector of Azad Jammu and Kashmir, despite facing significant criticism from India.

Anwaar-ul-Haq Kakar also highlighted the vital contribution of UNICEF in Pakistan’s anti-polio campaign, acknowledging its crucial role in changing public attitudes towards polio prevention. He remarked on the positive impact brought about by the collaborative efforts of the Pakistani government and organizations like UNICEF.

The Prime Minister was briefed on the extensive scope of UNICEF’s projects in Pakistan. Over the past five years, UNICEF has executed projects worth approximately one billion dollars, encompassing humanitarian aid, clean water and food supply, education, health, and other critical sectors.
