Islamabad, In a bold statement, Caretaker Prime Minister Anwaar-ul-Haq Kakar declared that Kashmir has never been a part of India and will never be. He made these remarks during a news conference held in Muzaffarabad on Friday.
According to Ministry of Information and Broadcasting, PM Kakar emphasized that the only acceptable resolution for the Jammu and Kashmir dispute is a plebiscite, in line with the United Nations Security Council Resolutions. He categorically stated that neither the Indian courts nor its assembly has the authority to determine the future of the Kashmiri people.
The Prime Minister criticized India’s illegal and unilateral actions in the region of Jammu and Kashmir, noting that these measures have only intensified the Kashmiri people’s struggle for freedom. He mentioned that the global community has not accepted India’s stance on Kashmir.
Paying homage to the sacrifices of the Kashmiri people, PM Kakar asserted that India’s attempts to suppress the Kashmiri people’s quest for self-determination will not succeed. He regarded the residents of Indian Illegally Occupied Jammu and Kashmir as potential citizens of Pakistan, vowing to protect their rights vehemently.
The Prime Minister disclosed that following his consultative meeting with the Kashmiri leadership in Muzaffarabad, plans are in place for another round of discussions in Islamabad. The objective is to maintain regular contacts with the Kashmiri leadership to effectively present the plight of the Kashmiri people on international platforms. Pakistan, he assured, will continue to be at the forefront in advocating for the rights of the Kashmiri people.
Responding to queries, PM Kakar also assured full support to the Azad Kashmir government in completing ongoing projects and launching new initiatives. A cabinet committee has been formed to oversee these efforts, signaling a comprehensive approach to address the Kashmir issue.
