Caretaker PM Kakar Asserts Pakistan’s Capability to Counter Non-State Actors and Highlights Regional Challenges

Islamabad, Caretaker Prime Minister Anwaar-ul-Haq Kakar, speaking at the Margalla Dialogue in Islamabad, emphasized Pakistan’s ability to independently respond to challenges posed by non-state actors. He highlighted the nation’s confidence and self-reliance in handling such threats, underscoring the minimal external aggression due to its defense capabilities.

According to Ministry of Information and Broadcasting, the Prime Minister discussed various regional and global challenges during the dialogue. On the economic front, he pointed to the potential of Pakistan’s young population and vast natural resources as key drivers for a successful economic story. The Prime Minister stressed the importance of connectivity and its benefits for the region, while citing the Kashmir dispute as a major impediment needing serious attention for the resolution in line with the Kashmiri people’s aspirations.

Prime Minister Kakar expressed concern over the rise of Hindutva ideology, noting its targeting of Islam and Christianity and its broader implications on the global order. He called for a deeper understanding to address this challenge. Regarding China-US tensions, he stated that countries like Pakistan do not benefit from such conflicts, contrasting India’s approach of leveraging conflicts for technological transfer and investment gains.

Highlighting the urgency of climate change, the Prime Minister called for global coordination to tackle this existential threat. He also condemned Israel’s actions against Palestinians, advocating for the establishment of an independent Palestinian state and stressing the irrationality of violence against children.

The dialogue provided a platform for the Prime Minister to outline Pakistan’s stance on key regional issues and reiterate its commitment to addressing global challenges through cooperation and self-reliance.
