ISLAMABAD, Caretaker Prime Minister Anwaar-ul-Haq Kakar has reiterated the government’s commitment to ensuring universal access to basic health facilities for the common man. He made these remarks while meeting with Dr. Palitha Mahipala, the World Health Organization’s Representative in Pakistan.
According to Ministry of Information and Broadcasting reported that the Prime Minister appreciated the WHO’s efforts in upgrading primary health centers across Pakistan, including in Gilgit-Baltistan and Azad Kashmir. He highlighted the importance of mobile health clinics and ambulances donated by WHO in delivering health services to remote areas. The PM was briefed that the upgrade of 464 primary health centers would be a rapid two-month project, with mobile health units providing not only basic treatment but also digital connectivity to the central health system for patient referrals.
