Caretaker PM Anwaar-ul-Haq Kakar Stresses Fair Elections, Discusses International Agreements and Regional Issues

Islamabad, Caretaker Prime Minister Anwaar-ul-Haq Kakar has reaffirmed the government’s unwavering commitment to ensuring free, fair, and transparent elections, addressing various national and international concerns in a recent interview.

According to Radio Pakistan, in an interview with Independent Urdu, Prime Minister Kakar emphasized the caretaker government’s neutrality amidst the political discourse and assured the effective functioning of the Election Commission. He noted that the election results would reflect the true popularity of the political parties among the masses.

Discussing recent agreements with Kuwait and the United Arab Emirates, the Prime Minister expressed optimism that their implementation would foster significant investment, positioning Pakistan as a key trade and manufacturing hub. On the subject of Pakistan International Airlines’ (PIA) privatization, he assured that the process would align with international practices and global market trends.

Addressing the issue of illegal foreign nationals in Pakistan, including Afghans, PM Kakar stated that those residing illegally must leave the country. However, he welcomed Afghans interested in business and trade, provided they obtain valid documents through the Pakistani embassy in Kabul. He also mentioned plans to streamline the visa and documentation process.

Regarding talks with the interim Taliban government in Afghanistan, Prime Minister Kakar clarified that there are no formal negotiations underway with them. He also reiterated Pakistan’s call for a permanent ceasefire in Gaza and the reopening of humanitarian corridors, highlighting the critical situation in Gaza and condemning the actions against the Palestinian people.

Prime Minister Anwaar-ul-Haq Kakar’s statements reflect a comprehensive approach to addressing both domestic electoral integrity and various international relations and humanitarian issues.
