Islamabad, In a significant display of solidarity with the people of Kashmir, Caretaker Prime Minister Anwaar-ul-Haq Kakar has reiterated Pakistan’s steadfast commitment to standing alongside the Kashmiri people in their struggle. This declaration was made during a special meeting of the Azad Jammu and Kashmir (AJK) cabinet in Muzaffarabad.
According to Ministry of Information and Broadcasting, Prime Minister Kakar emphasized the internationally recognized status of the Jammu and Kashmir dispute, highlighting the inability of India to legitimize its actions through usurpation. The meeting was called in response to the recent endorsement by the Indian Supreme Court of India’s illegal and unilateral actions concerning the status of Jammu and Kashmir.
The AJK Prime Minister and the cabinet expressed their gratitude to Prime Minister Kakar for his vocal support for the Kashmiri cause, noting his stance has bolstered the spirits of Kashmiris on both sides of the Line of Control. His approach has reportedly infused new hope among the Kashmiri people.
Prime Minister Kakar assured the AJK government of addressing the region’s various challenges, particularly financial ones. He confirmed that the federal government would extend all possible support and assistance for key infrastructure projects in AJK, including the construction of the Shounter Tunnel, Murree-Muzaffarabad Expressway, and the Mansehra-Muzaffarabad-Mangla-Mirpur Expressway.
Furthermore, the Prime Minister underscored the importance of harnessing the tourism potential in Azad Jammu and Kashmir as a means of economic and regional development.
This meeting and the declarations made therein signal a continuing commitment by the Pakistani government to support the Kashmiri cause and highlight the ongoing complexities of the Jammu and Kashmir dispute.
