Lahore, In a significant political meeting, Caretaker Prime Minister Anwaar-ul-Haq Kakar visited the residence of Pakistan Muslim League (Q) Chief, Chaudhry Shujaat Hussain, in Lahore today. Lahore, Caretaker Prime Minister Anwaar-ul-Haq Kakar has highlighted the crucial role of increased tax collection in ensuring quality education and public welfare during an interaction with students at Beaconhouse National University in Lahore.

According to Ministry of Information and Broadcasting, Prime Minister Kakar emphasized that the interim government has successfully achieved its tax collection targets. He expressed hope that future governments would continue to build upon this success to further enhance public services.

Addressing various issues raised by students, the Prime Minister stressed the need for structural reforms to tackle practices that exacerbate climate change, such as the burning of crops. He acknowledged the environmental impact of these practices and underscored the importance of enforcement-level reforms to address these irregularities effectively.

In response to a query regarding Pakistan’s decision to ban New Year festivities in solidarity with the people of Palestine, Kakar explained that the country distances itself from fireworks and other celebrations to draw attention to the ongoing Israeli oppression in Gaza. He reiterated Pakistan’s commitment to voicing concerns about the grave human rights situation in Palestine at global forums and called for the establishment of a humanitarian corridor to provide timely assistance to the people of Palestine.

Discussing the use of water cannons against Baloch protesters in Islamabad, the Prime Minister recognized the right to protest but stressed that it must be within legal boundaries. He clarified that water cannons were deployed when some protesters resorted to stone-pelting, and assured that all detained protesters had been released. He also highlighted that protesting women in Islamabad have been allowed to stage a sit-in freely.

On the topic of state response to violence, Prime Minister Kakar stated that entities or individuals resorting to violence would face appropriate administrative action from the state. He emphasized that protecting the rights of innocent and unarmed people is a prime responsibility of the state.
