Caretaker KP Minister Urges Reforms for Business and Investment Growth

Peshawar, Khyber Pakhtunkhwa Minister of Industry and Crafts, Technical Education, and Amalgamation Affairs Dr. Amir Abdullah has called for timely governance reforms to foster business activities and investment in the province.

According to Directorate General Information and PRs – Khyber Pakhtunkhwa, Dr. Abdullah emphasized the significance of updating public rules and regulations to protect interests and rights during a workshop on business and investment sector reforms. He stressed the need for a balanced approach to address the economy’s requirements and public interests, warning against any imbalance that could infringe on citizens’ rights.

During the event, organized by the Khyber Pakhtunkhwa Board of Investment and held at a local hotel in Peshawar, the Caretaker Minister remarked on the global progress in creating business-friendly environments and regulatory frameworks. He encouraged efforts to elevate local standards to meet international benchmarks.

The workshop, which also featured officials from the Federal Investment Board, explored proposals to improve service delivery systems related to business and investment. Dr. Abdullah appreciated the initiative to reform government processes and service delivery systems and highlighted the importance of considering stakeholder perspectives in these reforms.

Acknowledging the need for positive governmental changes to support business development, the Caretaker Minister assured the provincial government’s full support for the ongoing efforts and expressed hope for their continuation by the forthcoming elected government. The session concluded with the Khyber Pakhtunkhwa Board of Investment officials briefing on the ease of doing business in the province and presenting awards to the Minister and Secretary Industries for their contributions.
