Caretaker Government Committed to Assisting ECP in Upcoming General Elections, Affirms Solangi

Islamabad, Caretaker Minister for Information and Broadcasting Murtaza Solangi declared the interim government’s commitment to supporting the Election Commission of Pakistan (ECP) in conducting the general elections scheduled for February 8 next year. Solangi addressed the government’s stance on electoral preparations during a private TV channel program.

According to Ministry of Information and Broadcasting, reported that Solangi clarified the interim government’s constant coordination with the ECP to ensure all necessary arrangements for the upcoming elections. He addressed a recent tweet attributed to President Dr. Arif Alvi, emphasizing that it reflected the government’s position, not personal views. Solangi spoke about the President’s role, emphasizing that the President should act as a symbol of the Federation and not as a representative of any political party. He criticized the President’s apparent partisanship in his communications and urged him to adhere to the constitutional framework. Solangi also commented on the dissolution of the National Assembly, stating it was unconstitutional to dissolve the assembly once a no-confidence motion is presented.
