Caretaker Education Minister Urges HEC to Speed Up Policy and Project Execution

Islamabad, The caretaker Education Minister, Madad Ali Sindhi, has issued a directive to the Higher Education Commission (HEC) to expedite the process of policy formulation and the implementation of education-related projects. This announcement came during a significant meeting chaired by Sindhi with the HEC in Islamabad today.

According to Ministry of Information and Broadcasting, the meeting focused on various critical educational initiatives, including the discussion of the Private Members Bill titled “The Smart Institute of Science and Technology (Amendment) Bill 2023.” The HEC briefed the Minister on its efforts to develop a comprehensive service structure and promotion policy for university teachers. Additionally, the Director-General of the Federal Directorate of Education reported on the progress in training teachers under the FDE’s auspices.

A key point of discussion was the current enrollment figures for A and O level students in Islamabad, which stand at approximately 6,000. This statistic underscores the significance of the ongoing educational reforms and the need for swift action in policy development and project execution to enhance the educational landscape in the capital.

The Minister’s directive reflects the government’s commitment to improving the quality of higher education and ensuring that educators are well-equipped and supported.
