Lahore, Caretaker Chief Minister of Punjab, Mohsin Naqvi, surveyed the construction progress of emergency sections at the Government Teaching Hospital Shahdara and Mayo Hospital. During his inspection at Shahdara Hospital, he addressed concerns raised by patients forced to purchase risek injections from outside the facility, even though the injections were available at the hospital’s pharmacy.
CM Naqvi rebuked the hospital’s senior medical officer upon discovering the availability of the injections and ordered a refund to patients who unnecessarily made external purchases. He underscored that patients should not be directed to make outside purchases when the required medical supplies are available within the hospital premises.
Further, during his visit to Mayo Hospital, CM Naqvi inspected the under-development 200-bed emergency block, emphasizing its timely completion and addressing issues like roof seepage. The CM acknowledged the efforts made by officials for installing new ceiling fans in the wards. Senior officials, including provincial ministers and health secretaries, joined him during these inspections. The press release was sourced from the Government of the Punjab.
