Caretaker Chief Minister Votes in Karachi, Highlights Smooth Polling Process


Karachi, Caretaker Chief Minister of Sindh, Justice (retd) Maqbool Baqar, exercised his democratic right by casting his vote for NA-237 and PS-104 at the Government Boys Secondary School No.2, Block-6, PECHS. He assured the public of robust security measures and smooth operations at polling stations across the province.



According to Chief Minister Sindh, after voting, Baqar interacted with the media, expressing satisfaction with the enhanced security arrangements and the functioning of polling stations. He anticipated an increase in voter turnout as the day progressed. The Chief Minister emphasized the provincial government’s efforts in supporting the Election Commission of Pakistan, including facilitating the transportation of election staff to their designated polling stations and dismissing concerns about polling staff not reaching on time.



Addressing the suspension of mobile services on election day, Baqar noted that this was a decision made by the federal government, suggesting it was based on valid considerations to ensure the integrity of the election process.



Additionally, the Chief Minister visited the Command and Control Center at the Civic Center, where he reviewed the polling process via CCTV coverage. He was briefed by the Home Minister, Brig (retd) Haris Nawaz, and IG Police Riffat Mukhar on the effective management of the election process. Baqar, along with Nawaz and Mukhtar, later undertook an aerial survey of the polling areas to oversee the overall situation firsthand.



This visit underscores the government’s commitment to a fair and peaceful election, highlighting the extensive preparations undertaken to facilitate a smooth voting experience for the electorate.
