Lahore, April 07, 2023 (PPI-OT): A meeting regarding excel load management was held in the chief minister’s office under the chairmanship of caretaker chief minister Punjab Mohsin Naqvi. Mohsin Naqvi directed immediate and sustainable measures to save the roads from dilapidation.

The meeting also reviewed the proposal to install digital weight forks on selected major roads of Punjab. The Department of Communication and Works will formulate a policy on digital weighing of transport. Punjab Highway Police will check fixed weight in goods vehicles and digital bins will be linked to PITB app. The weight data of each freight vehicle will reach the respective district dashboard.

Wet machines of crushing plants, grain markets, cement, sugar and fertilizer factories and other industries will be connected to the PITB app. It was informed in the meeting that amendments will be brought in Industry Rules 1996 and Motor Vehicle Ordinance 1965.
