Quetta: Provincial Health Minister Bakht Muhammad Kakar inaugurated a newly renovated cardiac surgery ICU at Civil Hospital Quetta. The repair and renovation efforts for the ICU were undertaken jointly by Bank Alfalah and the Development Foundation. The inauguration ceremony saw the attendance of key figures including Dr. Mir Noorullah Musa Khel, Dr. Usman, a cardiologist from the USA, and representatives from the involved organizations.
According to Directorate General Public Relation – Govt of Balochistan, Bank Alfalah contributed significantly by providing cardiac surgery beds, medical machinery, and complete surgical kits for cardiac surgery patients. The inauguration was marked by the provincial health minister’s acknowledgment of the collaborative efforts, expressing hope for continued partnerships to enhance healthcare services across Balochistan. The minister highlighted the Balochistan Health Department’s commitment to improving health facilities and primary care throughout the region.
The minister also visited a heart bypass surgery patient during the event, commending the efforts of cardiac surgeons who recently completed their training and have begun performing surgeries in Balochistan. Dr. Usman, an attending cardiologist, donated 100 cardiac stents to the hospital’s Department of Cardiovascular Diseases, a gesture appreciated by the health minister. Bakht Muhammad Kakar emphasized the importance of continued support from NGOs and other institutions to further improve healthcare services for the people of Balochistan.
