Islamabad, February 28, 2022 (PPI-OT):A three-day workshop on” Cases of Rape and Sodomy” was inaugurated at the Federal Judicial Academy on Monday. While inaugurating the three- day workshop, Director General of the Academy, Mr. Hayat Ali Shah said, “We must create awareness about different dimensions of cases of rape and sodomy in the society. Awareness, coupled with sensitization and capacity building of Judicial Magistrates and other players of Criminal Justice System will spur significant changes in the investigation and prosecution of these crimes.”

“The Academy has arranged this workshop in collaboration with the Legal Aid Society (LAS) and I hope this workshop will be very productive for the participants”, the DG concluded. 30 Judicial Magistrates from all over Pakistan are participating in this workshop and they will be enlightened about “Understanding Objectives and Methodology of Training”, ““Re-visiting the law and Adopting Survivor Centric Approach in cases of Rape and Sodomy”, “Understanding Medico-legal and Forensic Evidence”, “Minimum Standards of Evidence”, “Recording of Evidence under 164 Cr.PC”, “Pre- and Post- Arrest Bail in cases of Rape and Sodomy,” and “Gender and Language in Judgments”.
