Burhan Wani’s anniversary: Posters displayed in IIOJK

Srinagar, July 02, 2021 (PPI-OT):In Indian illegally occupied Jammu and Kashmir, posters have appeared, paying tributes to the popular youth leader, Burhan Muzaffar Wani on his 5th martyrdom anniversary and other martyrs in several parts of Srinagar, Pulwama and other parts of the territory. According to Kashmir Media Service, Burhan Wani along with two associates was martyred by Indian troops in a fake encounter in Kokernag area of Islamabad district on July 8, l2016. The killing triggered a mass uprising that continues till now. During the period, 156 civilian protesters have been killed and thousands have been injured by the Indian forces.

 

The posters, displayed by Jammu and Kashmir Political Resistance Movement (JKPRM), Jammu and Kashmir Justice and Peace Initiative (JKJPI), Jammu and Kashmir Justice League (JKJL), Kashmir Resistance Movement (KRM) and Kashmir Hurriyat Forum (KHF), urged people to observe a strike on Burhan’s anniversary and express solidarity with the people of IIOJK.

 

The Indian narrative of terrorism against the Kashmiris’ legitimate struggle has died its own death and the people of Kashmir will continue their protest against India’s illegal occupation of Kashmir, it said. The posters said that the unresolved Kashmir dispute was the biggest hurdle to peace and political stability in the region so the United Nations must take solid steps for peaceful settlement of the lingering Kashmir dispute.

 

The posters read sacrifices of Kashmiri martyrs would not be allowed go waste and would definitely bring positive results, adding that soon the people of Kashmir would get rid of Indian slavery. About the settlement of the Kashmir dispute, the posters urged people to unite for its resolution with sincerity as it is clear by the people of Kashmir that they wanted their right to self-determination.
