BUGTI URGES RESPECTFUL TREATMENT OF UNDOCUMENTED FOREIGNERS

ISLAMABAD, Interior Minister Sarfraz Bugti has emphasized the need for officials and agencies to treat undocumented foreign nationals with respect, especially during the process of detaining them post-deadline in holding centers.

According to Ministry of Information and Broadcasting, in an interaction with media representatives, Minister Bugti underscored that any official found guilty of mistreating immigrants, including Afghans, during their transfer to holding centers, would face stringent punitive measures. He further mentioned that a specialized complaint cell equipped with a hotline (051-9206660) is now operational for swift resolution of any complaints regarding ill-treatment. The National Database and Registration Authority, he added, has leveraged geo-fencing technology to collate comprehensive data on undocumented immigrants present within the country’s borders.
