BRSP and Indus Hospital Organize Malaria Awareness Walk and Seminar in Dukki

Dukki, In commemoration of World Malaria Day, the Balochistan Rural Support Program (BRSP) and Indus Hospital organized a walk and seminar to raise awareness about malaria prevention and treatment. The event emphasized the role of the local community in combating the spread of malaria and encouraged proactive measures to reduce the impact of the disease.

According to Directorate General Public Relation – Govt of Balochistan, the rally began at Civil Hospital and proceeded through various highways, culminating in a seminar at the BRSP office. The walk and seminar drew participation from key stakeholders and community members, including District Coordinator BRSP Saadullah Khan Jogizai, Medical Superintendent Dr. Johar Khan Shadozai, Assistant Director Schools M Raz Mohammad Nasir, Indus Hospital Monitoring Officer Aminullah, and others.

During the seminar, speakers discussed the dangers of malaria and the importance of raising public awareness to prevent the disease. They noted that malaria, a deadly disease, has caused millions of deaths worldwide due to a lack of awareness and failure to take it seriously. BRSP has been working on malaria control for the past three years, offering free malaria tests and treatment through dedicated centers. However, the speakers expressed concern that malaria cases have increased due to insufficient public awareness and lack of interest.

The speakers urged the public to utilize the free testing and treatment services provided by BRSP and Indus Hospital to diagnose malaria early and receive proper treatment. They also highlighted the importance of preventive measures, such as covering water and food items in homes and installing nets on windows and doors, to reduce the risk of malaria transmission.

The event aimed to encourage community involvement and promote a proactive approach to malaria prevention. By raising awareness and offering free testing and treatment services, BRSP and Indus Hospital hope to reduce the number of malaria cases in Dukki and surrounding areas.
