British Police Delegation Visits Punjab to Discuss Cooperation on Crime and Extremism

Lahore: A high-level nine-member delegation from the British Police and the High Commission, led by Deputy Manager Strategy and Development Graeme Wallace, visited the Central Police Office in Lahore, where they met with Inspector General of Punjab Police Dr. Usman Anwar.

According to Punjab Police, the delegation, which included notable figures such as DIG Hamayun Bashir Tarar, DIG Mir Waiz Niaz, and Senior Policing Advisor Darren Colin Tomkins, commended the Punjab Police for their efforts and sacrifices in combating terrorism, extremism, and organized crime. Discussions during the meeting focused on sharing criminal records through Interpol to facilitate the arrest of dangerous criminals. Dr. Anwar outlined the challenges faced by the Punjab Police in addressing terrorism and extremism, and both parties agreed to further enhance their working relationship.

The British delegation also toured the Central Police Office museum and other departments. Souvenirs were exchanged between IG Punjab Dr. Usman Anwar and the British delegation as a gesture of goodwill. Additional notable attendees included Additional IG Punjab Sultan Ahmad Choudhry, DIG Operations Punjab Waqas Nazir, DIG R&D Khurram Shakoor, AIG Discipline Amara Athar, AIG Welfare Amara Shirazi, SP Iqbal Town, and ASP Nolakha.
