British Lawmaker Commits to Advocating for Kashmir in Parliament

Birmingham: A newly elected British lawmaker has vowed to champion the cause of self-determination for the people of Jammu and Kashmir both within and outside the British Parliament. This pledge was made during a significant event commemorating Kashmir Martyrs Day in Birmingham.

According to Kashmir Media Service, Independent MP Ayoub Khan, who recently secured a parliamentary seat, emphasized that his support for Kashmir transcends traditional political boundaries as he is not affiliated with any major party. “Our fight for Kashmiris in occupied Kashmir has to capture the minds of the fair-minded public. That is important,” Khan stated. He also noted the strategic timing of raising such issues in the House of Commons and acknowledged the historical role of the UK in the partition of 1947 and its ongoing consequences. During the event, Khan also recognized the efforts of Tehreek-e-Kashmir UK President Fahim Kayani in galvanizing support among British lawmakers for the Kashmiri cause. Various other speakers, including prominent figures from the Kashmiri diaspora and religious community, voiced their perspectives on the ongoing situation in Kashmir.
