British Kashmiris hold demos for Yasin Malik’s release from Indian jail

Birmingham, May 28, 2022 (PPI-OT):British Kashmiris held massive demonstrations to seek immediate roll back of the life imprisonment given to Kashmiri Hurriyat leader, Muhammad Yasin Malik, by India through a Kangaroo court. Kashmiris held demonstrations in many cities of UK to draw attention of the international community to fake trial of Yasin Malik.

The TeK UK had called for demonstrations across Britain to demand intervention of the international community to stop India from war crimes and seek release of Kashmiri resistance leaders including Masarrat Aalam Butt, Aasiya Andrabi, Shabbir Ahmad Shah, Nayeem Ahmad Khan, Dr Muhammad Qasim Fakhtoo, Peer Saifullah, Zafar Akbar Butt, Naheeda Nasreen, Fehmeeda Sofi, Ayaz Muhammad Akbar and other Kashmiri political prisoners.

Fahim Kayani also presented a resolution regarding Yasin Malik, detailing his struggle for freedom of Jammu and Kashmir from Indian illegal occupation. Fazal Ahmed Qadri, patron-in-chief of All Parties Kashmir Committee, addressing protestors in Derby said, the Kashmiris around the world will not sit till the freedom of Jammu and Kashmir from Indian subjugation.

Chaudhry Fakhar Iqbal, President of TeK Dundee, Scotland, at a Kashmir rally in Dundee said Yasin Malik is a torch-bearer of ongoing Kashmir freedom movement and an inspiration for generations to come.

The TeK UK leaders Qamar Abbas, Chaudhry Ikram-ul-Haq, Yahiya Akhtar, Talat Baseer, Shabbir Hussain and Khawaja Muhammad Suleman suggested a joint strategy among the Kashmiri diaspora groups so that life of Kashmiri political prisoners is saved.

“There is dire need for Kashmiri diaspora groups to come together and take up the cases of Kashmiri prisoners with respective governments and human rights defenders to put pressure on India to release them,” they said.
