Brazilian Naval Chief Visits Pakistan to Strengthen Maritime Collaboration

Islamabad: Admiral Andre Luiz Silva Lima De Santana Mendes, the Brazilian Chief of Staff, visited Naval Headquarters in Islamabad to discuss bilateral naval cooperation with his Pakistani counterpart, Admiral Naveed Ashraf. The visit focused on enhancing collaborative efforts in maritime security and training between the two nations.

According to Pakistan Navy announcement issued on 22 July 2024, the Brazilian Chief of Staff was accorded a formal reception, including a guard of honor and a floral tribute at the Shuhada Monument. Discussions between Admiral Mendes and Admiral Ashraf covered various aspects of mutual interest, including regional maritime security and potential avenues for cooperation such as training exchanges and joint naval exercises. The meeting underscored the importance of maritime security patrols in promoting peace in the region, a initiative highlighted by the Pakistani Naval Chief.
