Bosnia’s Grand Mufti Meets Pakistani Minister to Strengthen Ties and Labor Mobility


Islamabad, In a significant diplomatic engagement, the Grand Mufti of the Islamic Community of Bosnia and Herzegovina, Dr. Husein ef Kavazovic, held discussions with Chaudhry Salik Hussain, the Federal Minister for Overseas Pakistanis and Human Resource Development, aiming to deepen the ties between Bosnia and Pakistan, particularly in the realm of labor mobility.



According to Press Information Department, the meeting, held at the Ministry, was also attended by the Bosnian Ambassador to Pakistan, the Honorary Consul General of Bosnia Mr. Asad Saleem in Pakistan, and senior officers from the Ministry. During this important dialogue, Minister Hussain welcomed the Grand Mufti and lauded the upcoming conferment of the Sitare e Quaid e Azam Award to Dr. Kavazovic by the President of Pakistan on March 23rd.



The discussions highlighted the Ministry’s efforts in enhancing public service delivery and the welfare of Pakistani workers both domestically and abroad, along with their dependents residing in Pakistan. The Grand Mufti expressed his gratitude for Pakistan’s warm hospitality and underscored the enduring friendship between the two nations. He also praised Pakistan for its significant role in UN peace missions in Bosnia and its leadership within the Muslim world.



A key focus of the meeting was the potential for increased labor mobility between Bosnia and Herzegovina and Pakistan, with the Grand Mufti indicating Bosnia’s demand for foreign workers. Minister Hussain assured him of Pakistan’s capability to meet this demand, highlighting the country’s skilled and diligent workforce.



The talks concluded with both parties agreeing to enhance cooperation to address labor mobility challenges and explore further avenues for collaboration, marking a crucial step towards fostering closer bilateral relations between Bosnia and Pakistan.
