Book launching ceremony at Arts Council of Pakistan Karachi (Basheer Saddozai) 

Karachi, October 30, 2021 (PPI-OT):Administrator Karachi, Sindh government Spokesman and CM Advisor on Law Barrister Murtaza Wahab on Friday said that the biggest problem of the city is that fingers are pointed at others instead of doing own work. “We should fulfill our responsibility instead of blaming others, this city has deteriorated in the past,” the Administrator expressed these views while addressing the launching ceremony of Bashir Saduzai’s book “Baldia Karachi” at Arts Council of Pakistan Karachi as the chief guest.

President Arts Council Ahmed Shah, Secretary Culture department Rahim Soomro, Principal Secretary Governor Sindh Dr. Saif-ur-Rehman, Rauf Farooqi, Prof. Tauseef Ahmed Khan, Mir Hussain Ali, Ahmed Chinoy, Book Publisher Farid Hussain and others were also present on the occasion. Barrister Murtaza Wahab said, “This is my city, I studied here, I am now the spokesperson of Sindh government along with KMC”. He said that KMC is working for the welfare of the employees as well as the city, to solve the problems of payment of salaries and pensions.

“If I can’t represent the city as the Father of the City, then I have no right to be in this position. We need to get out of the atmosphere of fear and speak up for the rights of our city,” he said. The Administrator said that he tried to apprise the Supreme Court that KMC is working, and details of its assets have been put on the website. He said that in the last three months, KMC employees have seen a direction and they have the ability to work and just need guidance “I am not interested in transferring officers in KMC. Change will not come in 30 days or 30 months, it may take many months,” he added.

He said that we always have to speak the truth and truth and to end the politics of division. He also paid tribute to Bashir Saduzai for his hard work and dedication in writing a book on Karachi. Addressing the event, President Arts Council of Pakistan Karachi Ahmad Shah thanked the Administrator Karachi for coming and said that every person in Karachi considers Murtaza Wahab as his family member. “It is hoped that Murtaza Wahab will do a lot for Karachi,” he added.

Dr. Syed Saif-ur-Rehman, Rauf Akhtar Farooqi, Sardar Nazakat, SM Shuja Advocate, Tauseef Ahmed Khan, Mir Hussain Ali, Ahmed Chinoy Mazhar Khan, Munawar Saeed and others also addressed the function and appreciated the author Earlier, Bashir Saduzai said that the book presents the date up to 1979 and the second part of the book based on the date up to 2020 is under publication. He said that through this book, the fragmented local government history of Karachi has been brought together.
