Bomb Threats Disrupt Multiple Flights Across India

New Delhi: Airlines operating in India faced a tense situation on Saturday as numerous bomb threats forced several flights to make emergency landings. Indigo Airlines reported that five of its international flights received bomb threats, contributing to a wider disruption affecting multiple carriers.

According to Kashmir Media Services, over 15 flights from Air India, Indigo Airlines, and Akasa Airlines were compelled to land under emergency conditions due to these threats. Indigo Airlines highlighted that aside from the international threats, a domestic flight from Jodhpur to Delhi had to urgently land at Indira Gandhi International Airport due to a security alert. The airline is actively coordinating with security agencies to ensure passenger safety.

Air India Airlines sources indicated that more than five of their flights were impacted by similar scares, although official confirmation has yet to be issued. Akasa Airlines also acknowledged disruptions on some flights on October 19 due to security alerts but did not disclose the specific number of flights affected. They assured that their emergency response teams are closely monitoring the situation.

Adding to the series of alerts, an Air India Express flight from Dubai to Jaipur made an emergency landing at Jaipur International Airport on Saturday morning after a bomb threat was received via email. Authorities reported finding nothing suspicious on board the aircraft, which carried 189 passengers. Investigations into these threats are ongoing.

In a related incident earlier in the day, a Vistara flight from Delhi to London was diverted to Frankfurt, Germany, after a bomb threat. The airline confirmed that the flight landed safely and underwent mandatory security checks.
