Bolan University Hosts Seminar on Non-Human Viruses; Ziarat District Highlights Benefits of Breastfeeding

Quetta: Bolan University of Medical and Health Sciences in Quetta hosted a one-day seminar focusing on the impact of non-human viruses and the necessity for advanced research in virology, while a separate seminar in Ziarat district emphasized the importance of breastfeeding, organized by the Nutrition Directorate of Balochistan Health Department.

According to Directorate General Public Relation – Govt of Balochistan, the Quetta seminar, a collaborative effort with Pakistan Academy of Sciences, ANSO, and Quaid-e-Azam University, drew experts like Professor Dr. Saeed Khan from Dow University Karachi and Dr. Ali from QAU, who discussed the implications of climate change on viral diseases and the importance of modern diagnostic technologies. Vice Chancellor Professor Dr. Shabbir Ahmed Lahri highlighted the university’s advancements and the seminar’s goal to foster collaborative research. The session concluded with appreciation for the participants and distribution of certificates and souvenirs.

Simultaneously, in Ziarat, coordinator Ali Shan led a seminar and awareness walk on breastfeeding, stressing its critical nutritional benefits for both infants and mothers. Speakers detailed how mother’s milk adapts to a child’s changing needs and provides essential antibodies that protect against numerous diseases. The event highlighted the dual benefits of breastfeeding, promoting it as vital for disease prevention and overall health.

Both events underscore the regional commitment to addressing public health through education and specialized knowledge sharing, focusing on both human and environmental health factors.
