Body of labourer retrieved from Jhelum River after 2 days 

Srinagar, September 03, 2022 (PPI-OT):In Indian illegally occupied Jammu and Kashmir, the dead body of a labourer, who had drowned in Jhelum River while extracting sand, was retrieved on Saturday after two days in Srinagar. An official told the media that the labourer identified as Jaffar Wani (22) of Banihal drowned in river Jhelum while extracting sand in the Sonwar area of Srinagar.

He said that after the incident a rescue operation was launched to retrieve his body. “After hectic efforts, the body was retrieved this morning after two days in the Rajbagh area,” he said. Meanwhile, another migrant labourer hailing from the Indian state of Bihar drowned in the river Jhelum, while extracting sand in Bandipora Kawini area of Pulwama district, today. A rescue operation has been launched to retrieve his body.
