Islamabad: A boat carrying 80 passengers, including several Pakistani nationals, has capsized near the Moroccan port of Dakhla after departing from Mauritania. Survivors, including Pakistanis, have been accommodated in a camp near Dakhla, and local authorities have been informed.
According to a statement by Press Information Department, the Pakistani Embassy in Rabat is actively coordinating with local officials. A team has been dispatched to Dakhla to assist the Pakistani survivors, providing necessary support and facilitation.
The Crisis Management Unit (CMU) at the Foreign Ministry has been activated. The Deputy Prime Minister and Foreign Minister have directed government agencies to offer full support to the affected Pakistani nationals. Contact details for the Ministry’s CMU and focal persons at the Pakistani Embassy in Rabat have been made available for further assistance.
