Islamabad, April 19, 2023 (PPI-OT): Prime Minister’s Special Representative on Interfaith Harmony and Middle East Hafiz Muhammad Tahir Mehmood Ashrafi has said the blasphemous remarks by Indian Hindu leaders against the holiest places of Islam are not acceptable to the Muslims.

Talking to the media in Islamabad, he said the Muslim Ummah was quite disturbed over the blasphemous words of Hindutva leaders as India is currently under the grip of an extremist and terrorist group that has made the so-called secular country miserable for the minorities.

Referring to the Middle East situation, Ashrafi said as the successful mediation of China had culminated in a rapprochement between Iran and Saudi Arabia, its role for the settlement of the Israel-Palestine issue would be fully supported. Ashrafi said the restoration of relations between Iran and Saudi Arabia is great news for the Muslim Ummah, and the leadership of Saudi Arabia is becoming the center of the Ummah’s unity and stability.

He said following the restoration of ties between Qatar and Bahrain, the closeness of the United Arab Emirates and Qatar would also help in resolving the issues in the region. Responding to a question, he said Saudi Arabia’s positive role on the issue of Syria would help stop the bloodshed of Muslims, and restore Yemeni government’s relations with the Houthis.
