Jammu: National Conference President Farooq Abdullah has accused the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) of exploiting Article 370 to undermine the Congress and secure electoral victories in the forthcoming elections in Maharashtra and Jharkhand.
According to Kashmir Media Service, Abdullah, speaking at a private function in Jammu, asserted that efforts would be made to prevent the weakening of the Congress and expressed confidence in the INDIA bloc’s potential to secure victory. He dismissed recent Congress statements that downplayed the significance of restoring Article 370 in the Indian illegally occupied Jammu and Kashmir (IIOJK) resolution, suggesting they were part of the BJP’s electoral strategies. Abdullah emphasized that the BJP’s primary objective is to target the Congress to ensure electoral success.
On the matter of IIOJK’s statehood, Abdullah reiterated that it would be restored, highlighting that the manifesto was explicit and was being adhered to. He criticized the Modi government’s reaction to the resolution passed in the IIOJK assembly.
