Mumbai: Congress President Mallikarjun Kharge has said that the Rashtriya Swayamsevak Sangh (RSS) and the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) are the only threat to India, which were trying to divide people.
According to Kashmir Media Service, Mallikarjun Kharge, addressing a ‘Save Constitution’ conference in Mumbai, stated that BJP and RSS are engaged in activities aimed at dividing and lynching people throughout the day. He commented on the divisive ideology promoted by the BJP and RSS, which he claims is rooted in the Manusmriti, a text that he believes discriminates between people.
Kharge further criticized the Indian Prime Minister, Narendra Modi, accusing him of misusing governmental agencies such as the Enforcement Directorate, the Central Bureau of Investigation, and the Central Vigilance Commission. He alleged these institutions are being used to intimidate political opponents in regions where the BJP senses a lack of electoral support.
The Congress President also criticized Uttar Pradesh Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath, highlighting his choice of saffron robes over white and accusing him of using divisive expressions like ‘batenge toh katenge’ to further societal divisions.
