Srinagar, January 21, 2023 (PPI-OT):Indian National Congress has said that the Article 370 of India’s constitution, which granted special status to Indian illegally occupied Jammu and Kashmir, was revoked in an undemocratic way. Narendra Modi-led fascist Indian government had unilaterally illegally repealed the special status of IIOJK on August 05, 2019. The Congress party’s chief spokesperson, Jairam Ramesh, said the bill passed on August 5, 2019 (Jammu Kashmir Reorganization Bill 2019) in the Indian Parliament was not followed in a democratic way and it was ‘forcefully’ imposed.

Replying to a question during a press conference in Kathua area of Jammu region, he said that revocation of Article 370 was done in an unconstitutional and undemocratic way because they (BJP) had the majority in Lok Sabha and Rajya Sabha (lower and upper houses of Indian Parliament). He said that there was no discussion, no cross examination of the bill and it was forcefully passed, as the ruling government misused its power of absolute majority.
