BJP Regime Attaches Property of Two Men in Kupwara, Citing Support for Plebiscite

Srinagar: In a continued clampdown in the contested region of Jammu and Kashmir, the government led by Prime Minister Narendra Modi and the Bharatiya Janata Party has seized the property of two residents in Kupwara district, alleging their support for a UN-backed plebiscite.

According to Kashmir Media Service, a police team was dispatched to the Jumgand area within the district to execute the attachment of a land parcel measuring 2 Kanals and 6 Marlas. The property, owned by Asad Mir and Manzoor Ahmad Qureshi, was targeted under accusations of supporting the plebiscite demand in line with United Nations resolutions.

The regional authorities, via a press release from the police department in Srinagar, clarified that the seizure is part of broader efforts against individuals advocating for the freedom of Jammu and Kashmir and opposing what they term as India’s illegal occupation of the territory.
