Mumbai, February 07, 2022 (PPI-OT):Stooping too low to not even spare Bollywood superstar Shah Rukh Khan from the allegation of “spitting” on veteran Indian singer Lata Mangeshkar while bidding her farewell at her last rites. At veteran singer Mangeshkar’s state-sponsored funeral in Mumbai on Sunday, Shah Rukh Khan lowered his mask as well as head to have a last glimpse of the Indian singer. However, the BJP leaders did not forget to use the event as propaganda against the Muslim actor.

The state in-charge of BJP Haryana, Arun Yadav, was the first to make this allegation, tweeting “Kya isne thuka hai (Did he spit)?” along with a video clip. Then a trail of criticism was launched against him. In such a tough time, actress Resham comes out in support of Bollywood superstar Shah Rukh Khan. She took to Instagram and slammed the bigoted people for bashing the actor for his gesture.

“I don’t understand why prejudice blinds a person so much. After reading something during Lata Ji’s last rites, Shah Rukh Khan has blown the dua, which has been termed “spitting” by the bigoted people there and the clip went viral. But any conscious person will see it with open eyes that Shah Rukh has blown, and did not spit.

Lata Mangeshkar’s funereal prayers were held in Shivaji Park where she was later cremated after she passed away on Sunday morning. To pay their last respects, people from different fraternities gathered together at the Park.
