BJP Issues Warning to Mehbooba Mufti Over Remarks on Supreme Court’s Article 370 Verdict

New Delhi, The Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) has issued a stern warning to Peoples Democratic Party President Mehbooba Mufti regarding her recent comments on the Indian Supreme Court’s verdict on Article 370, as well as her statements calling for the resolution of the Kashmir dispute and cessation of violence in occupied Jammu and Kashmir.

According to Kashmir Media Service, BJP General Secretary Tarun Chugh condemned Mehbooba Mufti’s remarks, accusing her of inciting public sentiment in Indian Illegally Occupied Jammu and Kashmir (IIOJK). Mufti had criticized the Supreme Court’s verdict on Article 370, which concerns the special status of Jammu and Kashmir, suggesting that the court’s decision was not infallible.

Chugh, who is also the party in-charge for IIOJK, claimed that Mehbooba Mufti was indirectly attempting to provoke the people of IIOJK against India’s constitutional institutions. He went as far as to accuse her of acting on behalf of Pakistan, a charge that adds another layer of complexity to the already tense political situation in the region.

The BJP’s warning to Mufti highlights the ongoing political strife surrounding the status of Jammu and Kashmir and the role of India’s Supreme Court in this highly sensitive issue. This development is likely to stir further debate and discussion within political circles and among the general populace in the region.
